Though the spelling is more commonly used by local residence as Greenacres, the Census Bureau uses Green Acres for the official spelling. Since being incorporated in 2003, Green Acres has been a part of Spokane Valley. Located only 20 minutes east from Spokane, known for its active community, Green Acres has a population of 6,082 registered, as of 2009.
