About Airway Heights
Airway Heights, Washington is a fast-growing City on the West Plains of Spokane. Schools
The Airway Heights area is served by the Cheney School District which encompasses the Cities of Airway Heights, Cheney, and most of the unincorporated areas on the West Plains. Cheney is approximately 10 miles from Airway Heights however bus service is provided to all students who attend school in the Cheney School District.
Spokane County Raceway
Formerly Spokane Raceway Park, this facility is located in the city of Airway Heights. The track was founded in 1974 when investors produced more than two million dollars to build the facility. The track was questionably managed, resulting in a lawsuit against trustee Orville Moe, and bankruptcy hearings. Moe was eventually fired. The track was sold as of April 10, 2008, and purchased by Spokane County. The park remains open under interim GM Jim Tice, Jr., 56, a longtime drag racing enthusiasts and businessman. The park has been renamed; it is now "Spokane County Motorsports Park." Spokane County recently selected Austin Motorsports Management, LLC to be its long-term operator for the Spokane County Raceway.
Northern Quest Casino
Northern Quest Resort & Casino provides economic advancement for the Kalispel Tribe, as well as the entire Spokane region. It employs both tribal and community members and provides financial support for the Camas Path and other critical tribal services that provide support and opportunity for every member of our tribe.
The Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort & Casino support approximately 1,600 living-wage jobs, purchase over $1.1 million dollars each month in local or locally-affiliated goods and services, and have contributed over $3 million dollars to our community in total.
